Certain statements made by J. Krishnamurti

  1. The society we live in, the food we take in, the clothes we wear, the climate we live in-all condition us. We are conditioned both consciously and unconsciously by culture, literature, television, social media, and newspapers etc. When one joins one religion, one becomes conditioned. One changes one's religion, one's religious and spiritual teacher, one's conditioning changes. To be spiritually evolved requires freedom from all conditioning, both conscious and unconscious. That needs no space between one and one's conditioning, then only one is able to see the things in totality and be free from them.
  2. Ignorance is not knowing oneself. Acquiring knowledge begins with the process of learning about oneself
  3. Inner discipline is essential. Outer discipline makes one a fool and
    encourages copying.
  4. Truth is eternal. One's consciousness has to be free from all thoughts, desires, attachments, searches etc. i.e. all contents. At that moment what one experiences is self knowledge or knowledge of truth, love, or God (whatever one may say).
  5. One becomes free, when one has self knowledge i.e. knowledge of
love, truth, or God; not due to one's efforts to be free.
